  • I was not crazy about Fords in the 80's, but I really liked this car and the Mustang GT!! Now I will only buy a Ford or Lincoln!!

  • looks better than the mustang,....

  • @TheNikkigreeneyes What undid Detroit was diversification of their capital. Getting into financial services and believing the sales of stock makes money instead of sales of well-produced cars got them into trouble. They were being outperformed by Toyota and Honda by the end of the 1980s. The GM motto of economy of scale got trashed by Japanese reliability and German engineering.

  • @hulkhatepunybanner Not to directly disagree, but in case ya haven't noticed, new sport coupes are just as big if not bigger on average...take the fatass GTO for example, or the 3600+lb Camaro, or GOD FORBID the ridiculous new Challenger...apparently the oil crisis didn't teach us much of anything....waitin for Cadillac to roll out a new 5,000lb boat....it would seem "safety" or the illusion of it, is more important than being able to afford gas to GET in an accident in the first place.

  • @dstarks80 There was nothing else to buy. The numbers couldn't have been that high the car was changed the following year. This particular generation only lasted about five years.

  • @hulkhatepunybanner They were thinking about selling cars. This one sold like crazy back then.
