From 1954 comes "Big Long Slidin' Thing" on Mercury Records. The deep feeling with which Dinah Washington sang gospel in her earlier years framed her singing throughout her career. She was truly the Queen of The Blues.

It's about a trombone. All the old blues recordings had a double entendre' That's why they called it the devil's music. There's a bunch if this stuff around. Led Zep got sued & lost for ripping off this kind of thing. It's all over TV too. Hard to avoid. I find commercials that tell me "That it's time to get "Real" about what happens in the bathroom" more annoying than an old blues tune like this. And just to be clear, PC sucks, and I didn't say "Offended", I said "annoying."
