  • I find it hard to believe that this sort of thing is still considered acceptable. Makes me think of Hitler and his attitude to 'different' human beings. Makes me sick.

  • I have a ridgeless Rhodesian named Rusty, and he is the joy of my life. A happy, healthy, extremely spoiled dog. He's so smart and cuddly. I would rescue every ridgeless rhodesian if I could <3

  • I want a ridgeless ridgeback now. Without the dermoid sinus problem, it seems like the perfect dog for me.

  • @hookbastard, why not breed them as Rhodesian Slickbacks, if you insist on keeping the ridge?

My two 'slickbacks' are the joy of my life and I wouldn't want ridges on them even if it wasn't a dangerous deformity. It would obscure the muscular shapeliness of their torsos. When I see Ridged RRs now, I find the ridge ugly compared to the shapely backs of my two.

They are an athletic breed in which form still follows function, the canine equivalent of a beautiful horse. A good horse needs no ridge.

  • @sara301 Thanks for the video. While we love ridgebacks and will certainly continue to own them I'm inclined of preferring the non-ridgeback next time we get one.

  • Anybody who culls a Ridgeback - in my opinion the most beautiful breed of dog - for not having a ridge, should not be allowed to own an animal of any sort... or have children for that matter. It's disgusting.

The lady at 3:20 that smiles as she talks about it is beyond me, who has ever heard of somebody dog fighting with Ridgebacks in Britain? Is she completely delirious?!

  • "Best Hunting Dogs are the ones with the ridges." Its kinda like saying Blacks people are lazy. And when that woman was talking about Ridgeless Ridgebacks being a genetic defects. I couldn't help but think she did a little "sieg heils" when the camera was off. We have to keep the Ridgeback pure after all.

  • id put that thick bitch down

  • Ridgebacks have a ridge an thats how it is. No problem if no ridge but dont breed them is all.

  • @phildedog why waste your time on her. she's clearly insane!

  • The lady at 3:07 is so wrong! Ridgeless ridgebacks are still great dogs. I have been breeding for 20 yrs and have never culled a puppy for any reason. Still make a get friend! And I have never had a dermoid sinus. This kind of thinking is slowly going away!

  • That woman at 3:00 is sick or what? She should be put to sleep, because she dont fit aesthetic standards. OMG there is realy something wrong with her. Just because the dog is born without some ridge - cant live hmmm.... We should think hard about how cruel some people are even without abusing other animals.
