UPDATE TO RECIPE, PLEASE READ: Since i made this video, i made a few minor changes basically adding more a little more meat content, the cooking method is still the same, and with doing 24oz portions, i am getting 18 days worth of food per batch. Here is the updated version- 3lb's chopped meat, 2lb's ground turkey, 5lb's gizzards and hearts diced, 2lb's frozen pea's and carrot's, 1lb diced beef liver 4 1/2lb's brown rice, 1-15oz can diced beets w/juice.
Brief directions; Brown chopped meat and ground turkey, then drain fat, next in a 12qt stock pot, combine all ingredients and enough water to make like a very thick soup, then cook on low heat about 1 1/2 to 2 hours stirring occasionally. You will want it to reduce to the consistency in the video. I portion it in qt size baggies and put 24oz per baggy; thats the recommended amount per day for a 75lb active dog. With this batch, i got 18 days worth, and the cost was roughly $20-$25.

  • Do you store the portions in the freezer or in the fridge? Do you buy the meat from just anywhere or do you go to a local farmer's market?

  • @Maplestarr I keep about 5 days worth in the refrigerator, and the rest goes in the freezer. I buy from the grocery store, but am looking more into farmers markets now

  • wow even i would eat that

  • @mayglitch lol, it actually taste pretty good, i admit to taking a spoon here and there while i am portioning it

  • I am going to start feeding my Dogo Argentino puppy this recipe. My dog will likely be about 90-105 pounds when full grown. Do I feed him a little bit more than you do your dog when he is grown? Also, I would like to compliment you on your dogs temperment. Though you can only see her in the video briefly, you can tell she has a wonderful temperment!

  • @S60RNESS Thank you very much for the compliment! I appreciate it, she does have a great temperament! As far as how much food to feed them.... from the research i did, i found 2% of the dogs body-weight per day is the rule of thumb of how much to feed your dog. As is why i give 24oz or better described as a pound and a half of food per day to Sasha as she is 75lbs. If your Dogo grows to 100lbs, then 2lbs a day will be the ideal! :-)

  • i want a dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GodlyInspirations41 Absolutely! Those are great things for them too! Another thing i do is i buy chicken drumsticks in bulk, then pressure cook them for 1/2 hour-45 minutes at 240 degrees, then freeze them, and give her 1 a day aside from her meal as a treat. The pressure cooking makes the bone tender to where it breaks aprt when they eat it so you dont have to worry about splintering, and the bone is loaded with nutrients so its a healthy snack!

  • Would it be good to feed them steak? My wife and I will be getting two Neapolitan mastiff pups and we plan to feed them home made meals whats the best thing to feed the pups? Can they eat hardy things like turkey and chicken too

  • @MsHappyShine Thank you for viewing my video! :-) You bought up a very interesting question.. kibble may have the nutrients a dog needs, but it's also loaded with fillers and toxins that shorten a dogs life and health dramatically! After researching whats in there, i will never again feed my dog ANY commercial dog food, btw there is NO regulation on the dog food industry! As far as other treats, i do give treats that keep her teeth very clean. If you want, i will tell you them!
