Could be a mafia state? The govt controls what the people do and think, human rights are trampled at will, and stealing trade secrets is a badge of honor. Its been a Mafia state for years.

John Garnaut, a case of dogdy journalism

Posted on January 2, 2011 by kchew The more embarassing or awful for China the better it seems. Hence it is not surprising that their accounts are often highly

John Garnaut is a reporter for the SMH / Melbourne Age that is stationed in China. I don’t normally read his report as I consider them trash from an avid China hater. I am not really sure why Fairfax Press would send such amateurish silly journalists to China, as they seem to do nothing .

The guys a tool. The sad fact is, that its easy for any english speaking academic to go to China today and be an "Western Expert" on the issue of Chinese governance and have a whole mob of gullible folks back home considering your opinions as substantial.
