Obituary
Joseph James Donovan, an award winning journalist who once worked for The Daily News, KYW news radio and WCAU-TV and later in public relations, died February 26 of cancer. He was 72 and was living in Atlanta.
Joe Donovan, formerly of Wynnefield, was born in Camden. NJ and graduated from Bok Vocational Technical High School. Joe was a pioneer African American in both radio and print journalism. He was awarded the Edward R. Morrow Award for excellence in electronic journalism for his coverage of Three Mile Island. He was a founding member of The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalist s and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
He is survived by a daughter, Joelen Donovan-Gray, a son Vernon Hemsley; three sisters, Barbara Mitchell; Anne Stuckey and Joye Case, and two grandchildren; Giana Elena Gray and Aaron Joseph Gray.
Memorial service 10:45 a.m. March 21 at The Center of Peace, 4700 Wissahickon Avenue.

Wow...I was surprised to find this video. I was looking for something, using "Wynnefield" as a tag and found this video. I grew up with Mr. Donovan's daughter, Joey and remember Leon.
This was a beautifully done memorial and my condolences to the family.
