...kept there right now.
Obama already doubled the Afghanistan troop numbers from 36,000 in January to 71,000 in October. Since then, he "agonized over" a decision to send another 34,000 troops, for a grand total of 105,000 troops in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

Like Bush, he orders CIA predator drone and tomahawk missile strikes on "suspected militants" in Pakistan (killing 500+ people this year), and, 3 weeks ago, Yemen, which provoked the violent response of the "lap bomber".

....During the Senate campaign in 2004, Obama said he would filibuster the PATRIOT Act renewal, but once elected he actually voted FOR it. He voted for National ID and then, since many states have blocked it's implementation, REAL ID. Although he turned over a few "detainees" to civilian courts, Obama holds the remaining 200+ without habeas corpus, trying to set up a military prison in Illinois. The Iraq war will continue for at least 2 more years, & 100K troops are being

...and amendments to the Constitution are thereby required to give the US government more power.

Bush didn't like this limit on government power. That's why he called the Constitution "just a goddamn piece of paper", and pushed the PATRIOT Act, National ID, Military Trubunals, undeclared wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, etc. (with bipartisan Congressional approval).

Obama doesn't like this limit on government power, which is why he continues Bush's policies mentioned above.

This clip is still not enough context to find out what he means by "the flaw". If you want to know the "entire context" follow the posters link to Chicago Public Radio, September 6, 2001. The title of the show is "Slavery and the Constitution". Obama says that "the flaw continues to this very day", he means that the Constitution, specifically the 9th & 10th Amendments, makes it clear that the United States government ONLY has the powers written in the Constitution, (continued above)

What's the "deep flaw" Mr. President?

He doesn't clarify what he means by the flaw.

Why doesn't he? What does he mean?

The "Blind spot" hes talking about is code for RACISM. Hes saying the document was racist then and still is to this day. If you can't hear that, then youre NOT listening! Besides THAT, he is SO WRAPPED UP in his OWN answer
that he doesnt even clarify WHICH document he is talking about even after she asks!! ! Interviewer:"Which one?" B.O. "Both the Constitution and the Amendments" Typical politician, talks through his ass and doesn't listen. So how is that "change" workin' for ya folks?

I don't understand the "blind spot" he talks about. If he was talking about Women and Minorities having the same rights as whites our Constitution has this right now.

You need to go learn history, if the Founding Fathers said "Let's fight the biggest army in the world...oh and get rid of slavery" all at the same time, no one would have been behind the effort.

It wasn't a blind spot with the constitution as much as a blindspot with the Citizens of the colony.

You may interpret his view here as "not bad" but he has also said that the constitution is incomplete; a "list of negative charters of what the govt. cannot do but it does not list the things that the govt. must do on your behalf".

Now, unless you're a full on progressive or liberal, this a highly offensive viewpoint.
