Working Windmill Model of Alternate Design.
I would really like to get some feed back about this so if you have anything to say let me know!
This is a small, working Model of a Turbine, along the Darius Windmill Principal. My Model is self starting and I have shown it to numerous people in Princeton, BC.

TURBINE PROPOSAL - PROS & CONS
PROS:
01. Environmentally safe -
none or just minimal size Dams (for water storage).
02. Fish friendly.
03. Wind or water use.
04. Fairly simple to build.
05. Easy to work on for maintenance.
06. Most likely quieter in the wind.
07. Can also be used in tidal waters as it is completely reversible.
08. Easily controlled from highest speed right down to stall, even in severest storms it will not self destruct. (Tornado not inclusive).
09. Low "RPM" high "Torque.
10. Butterfly action uses minimal power to change the airfoils angle of attack.
11. RPM - Controlled by changing the airfoils angle of attack.
12. Breaks only needed to secure for maintenance.
13. Minimal Centrifugal and / or Gyroscopic Force.
14. No breaking of the sound barrier as by conventional propeller type blade-tips.
15. Construction to be in only a few unit sizes in each category (water or wind) and then they can be stacked on top of each other.
16. Small units for water or wind, small enough to sell to placer miners or trappers, or a power supply for outlying ranches, cottages etc.
17. Smaller sizes could be made to be completely submersible in water.
18. A small unit may be used as start-up for Darius (eggbeater windmill), if the Darius proves to be a higher power producer once it gained its critical RPM.
19. Power may be fed into the distribution net.

CONS: 01. Wind Turbine -
Probably very unsightly in the open country.

This working model is only made out of cardboard and coat hangers. The way I get it to work is usually with a table fan like you use in the summer time to keep cool.

So, seeing that you are looking for different innovations and I have been sitting on this for over 10 Years and trying to get it going through other channels. So now I am giving this to the public domain. If you have any questions contact me through YouTube. THIS IS FOR ANYONE TO TAKE AND BUILD.

  • Helo:

It took a Ferry Accident in New York Harbour to stumble onto the clearer explanation of my Turbine!

It turns out that an Austrian Engineer “Ernst Schneider” had the very same idea some “80 years ago” . As I was completely unaware of its existence, I do not expect an infringement on a patent. In any case my model is not as complicated as the “Fischer” system. He complicated it by introducing the “Nutral” revolution of the “Blade Attack Angle”.

  • This desingn is not very effective because of the "wrong" direction of the wings. It won´t work in the other wind-direction.

    please excuse my english :-)

  • Dear heizung4me:

I advice you to look again at the video, and then stop it intermitently so you are able to observe that each of the (so called) wings attack angle, changes continually on its travel of each revolution. Then have a look at the other video where it is not moving unless I move it by hand and you will see that the axle thereof has a crank at the far end. To this crank each wing is attached by a rod which you can clearly see if you slow it down sometimes,

    Thank you,

    Pete

  • this is absolutely right for a wind turbine. exept for a water turbine spinning in a horizontal position in somm cases might be preverential. the wind blowing from enny direction, wheras water is only from a single direction. in the case of tidal of ozean innland-arms the flow direction wil alternate back and fort.

  • can you make an other video of how to make this and maybe create energy please and thank you

  • Can you make it vertical so if the wind blows 90 degrees you still spin?

  • could this power a light bulb and could u show how u made it

    that would be great thanks

  • great piece looks like it'll turn like a pro keep us posted on anymore trial runs

  • it seems to be spinning very well. it's probably more suited for vertical use as a wind turbine or for hydro turbine.
