Garratt Gathering Manchester Museum of Science and Industry pt 3

While the rest of the group were inside I went out and filmed some of the locos. Of course you know me if there is a footplate to be had Im there. so spying my chance when the heavens opened and most people went in. I got on the footplate of Beyer, Peacock Iron clad 957 L & YR goods engine. Not realising at the time it had appeared in The Railway Children film which is one of my favourites. So while on the footplate and being told to stand by the fire to keep warm the foxfield railway loco went past on a passenger train and whistled which then set the whistle going on the loco I was on and on Planet. The poor bloke on planet was wet through. Then when the sun came out and 957 was doing the passenger train I got a nice wave off the bloke who I had a chat with on the footplate. It later did a demonstration further up the line which we end the film with
