@Nick182154 i dont talk as verbosely as hitchens. i use common everyday language nad everyday examples to show the absurdity of the religious position. theists GET our points. thats why they get defensive, angry, make personal attacks, or go for the faith escape pod. it is precisely because they understand just how stupid what they are saying is. they just dont have the guts to stand up and take it like a man.
-
@DeathBringer769 I agree. Unfortunately that's one of the reasons why many thiests do not get our points... :\
-
@no1hoopsman I do agree. And well stated. I sincerly wonder if there is a version out there that allows an "un forced" conclusion, that may contrast what was posted here as conclusive.
The last minute or so seem conclusive to Hitchens domination of the discussion, but I, like you, would prefer a continuous stream of events. Such is the world of YouTube!
Thanks for the volley, no1

@mrbarthoss1 Any clip that has been edited is self evidently selective irrespective of which way if there is one. I tend not to go for the edited clips myself; hence my statement about "another" edited clip. It is also hard to make any rational judgement of a debate from an edited clip don't you think ?
-
@no1hoopsman if you feel the selective edits favor one view or the other, would you be prepared to demonstrate which viewpoint is being favored? And/or post a version of this same discussion of your own edits, or no edits at all?

Another edited clip; selectively
-
You're wrong about that. Hitchens wasn't a zionist.

This part was edited out of videos of this debate that are available on youtube.
I suspect it was taken out by Truthdig on behalf of Hedges.
Hedges also claims at Truthdig that this debate went badly for Hitchens, Hitchens was drunk, and he stomped out at the end. He's totally lying.

Hitch is my hero! Brilliant ...sharp....concise!

the swing at the end from Hitch is genius. 'Cheers'.
that is what we call a Hitchslap

Hitchens speaks to eloquently and verbosely that people have a hard time understanding his points. You can tell by reactions some people are sitting there having no idea if they agree with what he just said.
