Ric Flair was miles ahead of Shawn Michaels because Flair understood that the point of a heel is to eventually lose, and he didn't put himself ahead of the fans.

Thats funny that HBK told Hall to act surprised if the crowd gets behind you, but still play your part...When the crowd turned on Michaels and booed him at MSG, he started working heel. He did the opposite of what he told Hall to do.
