Monica Sommerville of Sommerville Pottery (Prattsburgh, NY) did a 1 1/2 to 2 hour demonstration at Artizann's in Naples, NY. I taped Monica throwing, asked her some questions and had a lovely conversation. Most potters are cordial. In this clip, Monica throws a honey pot on a bat that doesn't quite fit the pegs...and a lid. Enjoy.

  • Great video

I have one of those tools, love using them

sometimes with the wiggly wire, that way, no trimming! ;-)

  • Thanks. I hear ya on trimming Em!

  • Thanks, great work getting a close up on her technique.

  • Thanks :)

  • Thanks Stella. Yes, the ultimate edger. During the pottery Throwathon, one potter used the edger to create a nice design along the edge of a wide-rimmed bowl.

  • Great video. Thanks

  • Pin .... schminn! You don't need the bat to match up to the pins. I bet you could throw a hundred of those over a layer of crushed concrete before I knocked out one.

Great looking honey pot...and lid. By the way, you may want contact Guiness Book of World Records for the least amount of time to make a cool looking lid with an equally cool looking handle.

  • Thanks Rapi, she is very good, I wonder.

    Kisses.

    Dalmira.

  • Thanks for another great clip :)... Is that the Ultimate edger tool she used on the base?
