@islamtheguidingforce read Isaiah 51. Its a prophecy about Jesus.. Concerning Abraham God did this as a test of his(Abraham's ) trust in Him and of Abraham's love for God.This is also an example for us that God rewards faithfulness.

His life, but that He gave it freely. The whole purpose of Jesus coming to earth, was this; to DIE for our sins, so that we, you and I, could be righteous before God! Because you and I, will NEVER, no matter how hard we try, be able to be sin-free! Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, because He was the sinless Son of God!

When you ask; Why would God not save a great prophet like Jesus,- it shows that you have absolutely NO understanding of the mission of Christ! Jesus was not to be "saved"!! WE WERE! Jesus even said that noone was "taking"
