did they have a permit to march and block traffic? Here parades and marches that block traffic need to get a permit. If the protestors had a legal permit and were peaceful then the police were wrong in what they did.
If, however, the marchers did NOT have a permit to block traffic then the police had the obligation to break up the march. It really is that simple.
