Did you check the transmission fluid to make sure it was at the "full" mark. These cars have two marks, one for full cold and another for full hot. If the fluid is low, you're not going anywhere fast. When you top it off, do NOT use anything except Chrysler ATF+4. It must say it on the bottle. If you try using Dextron or Mercon, you'll mess it up big time. Other than that, change the fluid AND filter and do NOT use a gasket for the pan. Use silicone ONLY! Hope this helps.

check ur alternator. my gauges went all haywire. before finding out that the alternator was going.

@351cleavland if you could somhow replace every part to upgraded parts like what ford and gm use then intrepid would have been as big as civic and accord

@wtl1964 I have mentioned to people that when I become a millionaire I will buy an Intrepid. I love the way they look but unless I have the money to constantly fix issues I will stick with other auto makers. And If I was a millionaire and I bought an Intrepid I would soon be a hundredaire!

make sure its the right key if its anything like my 99 intrepid es the owners manual says if started with the wrong key it will start for 6 sec and then turn off so make sure 100% that its the right key

Just got the new cluster today and put it in and for the moment it works.
I am being cautiously optimistic on this one.
