A stop in the River Kwai area (let's all start whistling the Colonel Bogey March) to visit the Amphoe Sai Cave and most dramatic section of the Burma Death Railway. The Wampo Trestle section.

This trestle was originally built of bamboo and caved out the cliff face where the cave is to form a construction base. Trains run across it every day and we'd take one ourselves in a few days. Just walking across the loose boards with holes in them was scary enough. I didn't even want to think about the train ride.

  • no carmeras should have been used in this cave, good job you got away with it. brought back some wonderful memories of my trip.

  • @mythdata You never know with the authorities. When we visited, cameras were allowed and all the Thais were clicking away like crazy. Just returned from India and in the morning, videos allowed with no charge. The afternoon, authorities changed their minds. Go figure! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Best regards, Travels With Sheila

  • I am relaxing tonight with my laptop so I thought I'd watch a couple of your videos, Sheila. As always, I am not disapponted! Your videos are always so interesting. And you are very brave to walk across that railroad like that, I would have to crawl probably, hahah!
