Eve of Destruction was recorded by The Shy in 2005. Originally recorded by Barry McGuire in 1965 and written by P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri. Vietnam protest song... the age to vote was 21, the draft age was 18, thus the lyric, "you're old enough to kill, but not for votin."

@ARP7777777 To the best of my knowledge, and with all due respect, the songwriting team of Steve Barri and P.F. Sloan is often given credit for writing Eve of Destruction. Much like other songwriting teams one or the other might be the actual writer, as could be in this case... I've seen it listed both ways. Regardless, the history of this songwriting team is fascinating and under-rated to say the least. Not to mention Barry McGuire's contribution to the songs success and longevity.
