I remember going to the Farrell's in Franklin Park Mall, Toledo, Ohio. Probably around 1979-1980. The place was just awesome if you were a kid. Although I imagine if you were older than say, 15, the joint must have been a nerve-wracking hall of noise. I finished their extra large chocolate shake, which came served in a small metal bucket. Waiter told me he never saw anyone finish it. I took the challenge and finished it. But I don't think I ate again for two days.

I remember going to Farrell's for all birthday parties as a kid. My hubby and I always shared the LALAPALOOZA! This video brought back all those memories. I hope they reopen in Minnesota.

It's hard for me to get a job in Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor in Oahu, Hawaii (Pearl Ridge Mall) cuz they rarely hire people there. 2 of my friends worked there. I always wanna work there though. Actually, I never been there as a kid. :(

My first real job as a kid was working at the Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor in Tacoma, Washington. My sister worked there as well. This video brought it all back for me. Even the things that I had long since forgotten about. My sister recently passed away very unexpectedly about 5 months ago and this brought me to one of our best times together. Thank you for posting this video.

It's interesting how the ice cream parlor concept has died out again. I think someone could make it big by launching a nationwide chain.

I've just been in a time machine! Every other birthday party my sisters, brother and I had, in the 70's, was a Farrell's! We always went to the Whittwood location in Whittier, California. My parents always ordered the Zoo and on the way out, my brother and I always got a white jawbreaker the size of a tangerine. Old Farrell was a genius forcing the parents to pass through a overflowing candy store just to pay the bill! My brother and I would smuggle out the long spoons on our, I still have 2 now
