I love this song from the Dreams album - and yes it's true you can't go back home and if you do things really do change. I don't know why but I always start crying whenever I hear this song - I guess I start thinking of when my mother and father separated (this song always reminds me of that occassion)

Can't go home,can't go back in time but listening to this I do,I know exactly how you feel with the obsession...kids , a life, a good man and still I hear this voice,and I'm back listening to my vinyls in a darkened dining room by an open hearth fire and wondering why no-one undertands me when David Cassidy seemed to! Some things never change...I still feel that way I guess!Ty David for the words and the hope one day a man with your emotions would take your place :(

When I woke this morning, it was THIS song in my head. The writer of it was so insightful. What poignant lyrics. And how beautifully David sang them, so evocatively. No wonder I hear him singing in my dreams...thanks for all the work you did on this and for sharing. You got some great photos! x

david cassidy was a big hit during his early years, he came to my town of brisbane in australia and it was a big deal. he sang some fantastic songs away from the partridge family image and these are the tunes i am most fond of. i was very disappointed when he visited brisbane a couple of years ago and turned his back on his original fans, don't forget david, these are the same people that made you who you are.
