One of my first Kompoz projects. An attempt to create an otherworldly and disturbing score for a horror/sci-fi film.

I'm something of a Bernard Herrmann fan. Bernard Herrmann did scores for the original version of the Twilight Zone on TV. He also did the music for Psycho, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Vertigo, Fahrenheit 451, and Cape Fear to name a few. So there is some of his influence here, and also Forbidden Planet's music by Bebe Barron and her husband Louis, a completely electronic score where it's hard to tell the music from the background sound effects, they merge into one. The sound of that film, as far as I know, remains unique in its strange and alien sound even today.

  • Would you be willing to do some music for a scifi webseries? We need some original music and you would be credited in the credits.

  • @Sonorakun

PM me with a link to what you are working on. I'll see what I can do for you.

  • very good, exactly what I was looking for. Can I use this ina video ?

  • @GerdaDunckel

Yes, use it if you like, but, please put a link back to this video in your underbar and send me a link to your vid.

  • Ah ! Ah ! Ah !

    Great stuff man.

Zappa made an album entitled "Does Humour Belong In Music ?" ...

Well, OF COURSE YES, and you don't even need to put lyrics on it.

Hey ! Did you even try to play a "theremin". I did once ... It's a lot of fun ( I couldn't manage to play anything in tune though ).

In fact, I was looking for some eerie stuff played on a "theremin" by checking science fiction and horror movie music, when I saw the link for your video ....

    HAVE FUN !!!

  • @EarthSuburb "Great stuff man."

    Thank you.

"even try to play a "theremin""

Yes, I was terrible at it. It was a home made light theramin and the pitch would shift randomly even if you stood stock still. However, I can get some theramin-like effects by combining midi sequencer outpit with effects found in the Audacity Audio editor.

If you want to try it yourself Check out the links in the underbar to this video:
