Ridiculous MIDI samba-fusion ahoy! This was written in January 2007, for omidia.net's (now midiphile.net) fake fighting game soundtrack "Vapora Fighter", for which I wrote three tracks (I doubt I'll post the other two here.) The project is as of yet unfinished. This is supposed to be for a beach stage; can you tell? I straight recorded the MIDI using the S-YXG50 VSTi - I considered maybe going through the tedium of audio production, but I'm bad at that and honestly don't think i'd have the resources (sample libraries, RAM, etc.) to give music like this justice. thus, mideeeeeee. enjoy.

  • Are these all sounds from the S-YXG50 VSTi if so how do i load them up as i only have a piano?

  • @SerieOrtiz they are. the S-YXG50 VSTi is not like an ordinary VSTi with a configurable frontend -- it responds to MIDI events instead (program change events, bank change events, CCs for parameter changes etc.) in your host you might be able to load it as a multichannel VST for 16 channels.

basically you would use it the same way you use any midi synthesizer, except with VST channels rather than MIDI channels.

  • @goniochromism I don't really understand...i use FL Studio 10...what do i have to do in order to change the instruments?

  • @SerieOrtiz as i'm not familiar with FLstudio i have no idea exactly what you should do. it isn't really designed for midi sequencing, i know that much. but see if there's something about program or patch change events in the help file maybe, because those are what you use to change instruments.

  • That's some very nice snare work, among all the rest of the evident awesomeness. I'm curious, what voice was used for the part that comes in at 0:41?

  • "distorted guitar", doubled up and detuned/offset to make a delay and chorus effect.

  • Wow...this is awesome! simply amazing. Very nice chord progressions employed, and that's one sexy bassline. I take it you have some background with music composition?

  • like the bass, dancing to it :) Nice brazilian-esque atmosphere, though it's more like jazzy, or bossa nova, latinesque! lol. More of this, please?

  • damn is this really catchy!! i love it

  • yea it's GM, just playing with a yamaha device.
