  • Life's Too Good is such a classic debut album. The Sugarcubes had a knack for a pop tune but always with a strangeness i can't put my finger on. Must be something they put in the water in Iceland! Been a massive Bjork fan since i first saw the Birthday video on The Chart Show and heard the blessed John Peel promote them.

  • @bloozmonkey111 I'm not a Bjork fan either but she is unique and an original. A few songs I like a lot and this is one.

  • Every once in a while out of the blue comes a recording so tense, so raw, so genuine and impertinent to pops sameness that it catches on like a fire, like flame of difference bending, twisting, raging against indifference, so powerful, so blunt, so pure, so Bjork.

  • @tambocha Just had another listen ... She's pretty good in small doses lol

  • @RikkyHahaha She had a few semi-well known Icelandic avant-punk bands before this, too. One was Kukl and another was Tappi Tíkarass. They were mostly known in Iceland but I remember some of their stuff making it to the US...I thought it was weird back then, but kinda cool, but it really took the Sugarcubes for me to pay real attention.

  • Thank you for the photo selection!!! :-)

  • @spuddy83 Aye, he got loads of artists recognised, as though it was his crusade

  • Her voice is so irritating! I don't know why I love this song.
