This video shows the testing and editing (maybe the 2nd or 3rd edit??)of only part of the most ambitious and costly miniaturized project to date called "the Alchemyst's Clocktower. "
The star (the Alchemyst) is part child's poet,Part self-pitying bore,Part Insult comic,Part absurdist, part occult Philosopher...and very protective of his tower!

After several years the second tower was completed in 2008

This project was not funded by a multi-million dollar corporation or film studio .It was built by one man from scratch from an Idea that evolved over the span of nearly a decade.. that being said, Blake Bolger,Dru Smith, Tom Blue, and Richard Landon all deserve a huge special "thankyou" not only for their generous moral and technical support but also for believing in the dream .Blake made a second set of much improved hand- stitched costumes for the alchemyst..
The control cables going into the tiny little head head pass through a metal spring tube only 1/16th of an inch wide!
His body components were machined by hand on a clockmakers lathe out of brass and steel.
For rehearsals his grimoire is absent from his right hand...The figure is part of a 9 foot tall fully mechanical tower inspired by the astrological clock in Prague and dedicated to the alchemysts of old.
It was constructed of traditional materials and the figure itself was made using century old techniques from the feet up. Below the decks however he is controlled by a complex array of theme park technology making him capable of performing many shows with full syncronized audio
lights and effects including pillars that turn to water ,pyrotechnics, and a whole host of automatons built into the upper deck of the tower. The project was built using the best materials possible including wood brass steel, leather, aluminum, and much more...

It was designed from the beginning to be adaptable and evolving to allow the best of the old to bridge to the best of the new. It was carefully designed as an automaton "hybrid" (the tower uses Pneumatics, electronics and traditional automata all combined in one) that could be upgraded in 100 years if need be, because the puppet itself from the feet up has no technology that is disposable. It was decided early on to take a classic mechanical approach to his body to avoid "planned obsolescence" the control section below was designed to be adaptable to newer techniologies if desired in the future without altering the alchemyst..Also materials with short life spans were avoided at every turn. This became very difficult in some cases....Silicones and rubber were avoided because of their tendency to rot.

This clip is for those who appreciate the world of micro- mechanics and cantankerous automatons!

a full video of the Tower (s) in the editing stage and will be posted in the near future
