It was the dormouse's story who mentioned about 3 mice living in a treacle well learning to draw everything that begins with an M - not the hatter. And as for why a raven is like a writing desk - Lewis Carroll himself didn't know, alot of answers were posted but his favourite answer was because there is an "N" in neither and "B" in both.

Johnny depp did a brilliant job of the hatter, but i think he was too strange looking (inhuman) and this deviates from the far superior original Lewis Carroll script.
