We were trainees who had a session at a predatory bird rehabilitation. The leading expert was showing us the dynamics and anatomy of the owl so that we could know what types of injuries we might expect and what motions were typical for the owls.

  • people need to chill the owl is fine. yes it's stressed out and was made to do things against their will but that happens to humans too. so don't say 'i don't get us humans sometimes.' because lots of people do things againsts their will. and he's just making sure the newbies know what they're doing instead of harming the animal.

  • That owl i being Ill-treated. He is handling the bird with care. He looks like he knows what he is doing. Any raptors are able to do since they have such a flexible neck. He is doing no harm to that bird. And on a side note all wild raptors, even calmed down raptors are stressed when handled. That bird is perfectly fine. It's better to teach the noobies whats normal and what is not so in the future they don't end up hurting the bird.

  • hey what are you doing to that poor owl

  • I for one do not approve of his handling of that owl. Why make the animal do something like that and stress it out to the point of screaming. I am getting my falconers License and they have NEVER treated them like THAT during my time training!!! Come on just to make a point?? That's just someone trying to make it out like he is boss of the animal an do what he wants. Show the Owl some respect and maybe he will be willing enough to cooperate with you. Just WRONG!!

  • It seems like you're hurting it. Lol.

  • He's a trained professional. He's not actually hurting it, its just that instinctively they don't like being handled at all.

  • @futurerockstar1992 seriously and you see barn owls? I'm jealous! I live in Ohio and they are endangered here! They are my favorite owl.. so if you want you can send some over this way! lol.I asked if you was from England because they are very populous there! They always see barn owls..lol
