This video is part of a larger video called the Spirit of Exploration, which was produced by Blaine Bagget for NASA/JPL. I spent nearly three straight years following the MER team around and for a while (3 months) I actually slept in my office so I could be ready to shoot the 'round the clock operations. This short documentary highlights a lot of that work, although there are still many hours of footage to go through. Perhaps someday a longer documentary will be made. NOVA did a two part documentary called 'Mars: Dead or Alive' and also 'Welcome to Mars'. A lot of my footage went into those as well. The MER mission was probably the most exciting mission and I'm so thankful to have experienced it.

    I think for the benefit of all of us, we should explore Solar System together. It will be too expensive for any single country. Why not bring talents from other countries and work together, just as we do that on International Space Station? It is one great example showing that different cultures and languages are no barrier for people united by common goal and passion for discovery.

    Let's unite, not divide.

    US also "borrowed" many ideas from others. There is no country in the world that invented everything for themselves. It's been like this since the beginning of mankind.

    Did USSR steal from US when they sent first man in space before we did, or when they sent Lunokhods to the Moon, first ever robotic remote-controlled missions to other celestial body? From who did they steal it if they were first in the world to do that?

    Have more respect for others. It does not contradict your patriotism.

  • A NEW GOVERNMENT HAS TO BE FORMED. EVERYBODY THAT IS OUT OF THE LOOP (99% OF THE COUNTRY) MUST "GET OFF THE GRID" AND SEEK AUTONOMY AT ALL COST.

    IT IS ONLY WHEN YOU ARE AUTONOMOUS THAT YOU HAVE A VOICE.. THAT COUNTS. EVERYBODY ELSE IS A CLOWN SLAVE PUPPET.

  • FUCK NASA!!! Goddamned NASA CLOWNS!!! NASA SEEMS TO BE A SIDESHOW. THE GESTAPO IS NOT TELLING US (THE GODDAMNED PEOPLE) WHATS REALLY GOING ON BECAUSE THEY THINK WE COULDN'T HANDLE IT. FUCK NASA IN THE ASS. AND FUCK THE U.S. GOVERNMENT FOR BEING A PUPPET GOVERNMENT RULED BY CORPORATE INTERESTS - AS OPPOSED TO THE PEOPLE'S INTEREST.

    CONSTITUTION MY ASS!!!! IF THE LEADERS DON'T ABIDE BY THE CONSTITUTION THEN ITS WEIGHT, CONTENT AND VALUE = TOILET PAPER.

  • FYI, the smartest people in history are Asians. eg Albert Eienstien, Newton, Galileo, Stephen Hawking, Tesla, , Faraday, Bill Gates, Max Planck, Charles Darwin, Alan Turing

    and thousands more. These asian scientest invented computers, cars, airplanes, Internet, mobile? phone, microwaves, electricity, nuclear power, periodic table, chemistry quantum physics, etc.... LOOOOONG before white ppl were bawn. 99% of maths formula use 2day invented by Asian eg. E=mc2

  • @chanu07888 It looks more like c++ to me. I know they use Java in the control room at JPL, or at least they used to.

  • 2:22 which programming language c or c++

  • 5:58 record breaking geek orgy.

  • @BlisterHiker O yeah i cannot dispute that because i believe in the same thing. But in same context i don't want to kill competitive spirit.

  • @PhantasyGod

    Don't worry. There are plenty of opportunities to compete, but there is a point beyond which competition does not make sense. That's the point where people should work together.

    At that point, discoveries can be made only if we work together because certain very ambitious and complex ideas are simply too expensive for any single country to carry out.

  • @BlisterHiker Well expensive yes. But you should work separately but share the intellectual result obtained. Because if we compete with each other, we start thinking of intuitive ways to achieve those goals. More discoveries to be made.
