Re: Why Christians Fight To Stay Alive

Christ is an copy and paste of many previous myths, and there are lots of contradictions in bible about his story.
Also, the concept of justice here is totally screwed. If an innocent is executed for murder, and latter we discover the real murderer, would we forgive him because someone already died for his crimes?
And why would God incarnate himself as his own son, sacrifice himself to himself, in order to please himself? A sadistic and masochist god at the same time!

Well back in my church when I was Christian. They told me to fear God, and Jesus. Besides what makes your religion more right than others?

I don't see the point in fearing death, never have. I'm a Christian myself, I don't care who you are, your going to die, no matter what denomination you proclaim yourself. Shit, my best friends Hindu lol, He's gonna die. Were all going to, I just don't see a point in fearing it. Its like fearing breathing, your going to do it, (you wont die every second lol, but you get the idea) It really is pointless to fear death. Embrace it, its your only escape from this hell-hole.

I do understand your impulse to drone on and on, but have you actually watched yourself or read your posts? Sweet Sandaled Jesus Christ in Air Conditioned Heaven, you are BORING!!! And tedious and creepy. Almost makes me wish there's a God, or Gods, or Fairies & Pixies that would take you away to Never Never Land. Almost. No, you have to stay right here on Earth and suffer with the rest of us. That's a worse punishment, isn't it? OK, my rant is over, now get back to your silly postings...

@sunuvuglitch Thank you for the psychiatric evaluation. I guess if that were true I’d never challenge a video. So, if I leave you alone does that mean I’m no longer threatened? Yes indeed, it is simply. Atheists don't actually believe in what they claim to either. With absolutely nothing to gain or lose they fear death too. Hey, there is no life after death, right? Funny how the logic you're applying to Christians doesn't apply to atheists.

Sorry, being a theist, I musta got, "Confused". Yeah I get it now. Christians shouldn’t be allowed to fear death because they believe in eternal life but atheists who don‘t even believe in life after death may fear “Be concerned about“ death. HOWEVER, sun, do not mistake our concern for fear. Its a double standard and makes the point of the (Original) video moot. I do appreciate your respectful manner in video and blog but I thought the "Confused" crack was uncalled for.

@sunuvuglitch Concern, fear, WHY? You have nothing to gain or lose. Are we better than any other species that has gone extinct over the millennia? No. Can you fix 200 years of damage in 20 years? No. So it’s too late anyway. You’re an atheist, dude. There is no god, no heaven, no hell and when you and your children die you go oblivion. IF you believed what you say you do, you wouldn’t worry “Be concerned” about such things.
@errantcoward Actually, my point is that christians don't actually believe in eternal life. They say that they do because they're afraid of death. What I was saying, simply, is the reason they fight to stay alive is the same as the reason they proclaim a belief in the afterlife. Whether or not there is an afterlife, no one needs my permission to do or think anything. You should reflect on why you felt the need to reply to this at all. If it threatens you, maybe you need to explore those feelings

@errantcoward Pretty sure I covered all that in my last response, but to put it simply, every creature fears death and will do anything to avoid it. It is not a belief in the afterlife that makes life precious to people or other creatures, it is life itself. To reiterate: Earth is what we have. If oblivion follows life, making life as good as possible is the best solution. Has that sufficiently answered your rhetorical question?

@errantcoward I think you mistake concern for fear. Atheists are concerned about global warming and other earthly issues because the earth is what we do have - we don't rely on heaven (or Narnia) to rescue us and don't believe that our mistakes are part of a grand plan. We worry for our children, and the welfare of people. This is exactly why religion is so damning - it makes people say, 'F*ck it. It'll all work itself out."

I find that there really ARE genuine believers who are not afraid to die. However, these people happen to be the abortion clinic bombers, and other terrorists, like the ones on 9/11

Well, that's one way to prove your faith, I guess. Though studies are finding that most of those people are either drunk, suffer from mental disabilities or frontal lobe trauma.
