Flip Mino HD Testing during Buddha day 2009 - Amsterdam Zeedijk
Testing my recently purchased Flip Mino HD during Buddha day 2009.
This is a quick and short montage of that day.
After the fiasco that was the Toshiba S10 I can finally say i'm satisfied and have replaced my Ixus IS80
as a video recording device whilst on the go.
Despite what Flip's manufacturer claims it's F/2.4 apperture lens cannot save you from good shots in a poorly lit situation such as a bar (not in this video) but I have seen firsthand unedited / uncompressed footage of the Flip mino HD at night in Tokyo and that looked impressive so in certain conditions the Flip HD can still do some great shots at night.
I used Adobe Media Encoder with the following settings on export: 1280x720, 25 FPS, H2.64 at 5000.
The Youtube HD result looks a bit pixilated, something I don't have with the original source material .
Might try to widen the settings to 6000 so that there's more of the video to be eaten away by Youtube's compression.
Very nice quality. I am going to test my mino outside. filming indoors doesn't come out very nicely
