On the border: words put not only a spell on me: why bother...

Yes your rignt... the early Heidegger lectures must be fascinating, TNX for the enthousiastic way you're telling about it. Not 'Heideggering' in the bad way some other 'thinkers' had confused the world, no you're explaining it in you're own clear terms. Great stuff. (Why border if he's a real Professor or not and if he is a real Prof. the students are lucky to have such a great teacher)
Fascinating his "sich versetzen" in "Kriegsnotsemster" (1919) relates to Kafka's and Canetti's "Verwandlung".

Are you a professor?

This was a very useful video. Thanks very much for taking the time to make it! I'm studying Heidegger over three lectures as part of 20th Century German philosophy course. The set texts are extracts from Being and Time as well his inaugural lecture "What is Metaphysics?" and they're not exactly easy-going. Perhaps if I'd done some preparatory reading from the book you read from, I'd fare a little better.

I have also heard his Introduction to metaphysics is a good place to start as well - have you read both? which would you recommend?

thanx..
I highly recommend the earlier writings, esp The Concept of Time, the History of the Concept of Time and the Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics
