The only reason this works is because it's a movie and Spielberg is tricking the audience. In any realistic sense this would only work if Indy had one eye because any depth perception would give it away immediately.

@BuellerBueller95 The bridge is aready there, but from above you can't see it, the way the rock is colored and formed it looks just like the wall on the other side of it, basically its got Camo. lol. The thing is it was called a leap of faith, anyone wanting to cross had to have faith in God to believe they wouldn't fall and would be able to walk across. Anyone who took the step would show true faith in God, however the bridge was there the whole time. But now you see why its a leap of faith.
