  • Sure they can run on the roads BUT if installed off road tracks they will damage roads and tracks. It is very expensive to use tanks as patrol support it it is used only when it extremely dangerous.

  • @GTXMAN

Shame on Israel that they do different thing?

Shame that do not use useless monsters?

Looks like you really don't know the subject that you commented!

    Shame on You!

  • @mtunik Whatever, for me it doesn't look serious, every respectable army has its Own REAL tank transporters and not some volvo truck .

  • @GTXMAN

Did you drive REAL tank transporter? You know What is the REAL tank transporter?

Oshkosh was tested and found not suited for IDF needs...

Sometimes chipper and smaller options can do the JOB much better then monster truck that on pictures looks cool :)

  • @mtunik how is a oshkosh not 'suited' for IDF and a everyday truck with a everyday trailer is.......not be a smart but or genius just makeing a point

  • @joegoestodanville

You are professional driver? If Yes, you will understand what are limitations of Oshkosh and due to these limitations it is not suited for IDF.

  • @mtunik One question: Can this tank run on road?will it damage the roads?is it to wide?too heavy?

I am asking this to know how patrols are done in IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN with tanks

  • А спорим на ЖД- платформу с боковой загрузкой задом сдать слабо.

  • @mtunik

i dont understand why you fighting

its a truck that TRANSPORT a tank

the importent thing is that its can transport it good.

the IDF doesnt need to use useless tools that just cost more money, training and time for the IDF those 3 things are very importent since this army fight the real war and not showoff and do parades to show its power like other countries.

plus it will be not very smart to buy something your not gonna use dont you think?

and you know Israel... very smart country

  • @FeelFree3 True, but the DAF truck is more than likely a 12Litre 6cyl (possibly v8), the tank is a diesel, possibly V12 20litre...with a top speed of 34mph, the truck is (at least in Europe) limited to 56mph

  • @ImRatherTall Even the truck have to carry more weight than the tank itself... Thank you.

  • @FeelFree3

Because it could only do about 1mile to a gallon, which is expensive if it needs to drive back to base!

(Hence a truck, which in this case is a DAF and not a Volvo, which probably uses less fuel pulling that tank!)

  • I am not sure why a tank need transporter when it can be driven.

  • @GTXMAN 1) it looks serious as long as it works. 2)many tank transporters in top notch armies are civilian types that received a coat of green camo: do you think that it makes a huge difference? YOU ARE A DUMBASS, DEFINITELY.

  • @mtunik hey whatever gets the job done..whether its a volvo or a HET (Which i drive) its still doing the same thing. Its getting the tank where it needs to go and with the terrain, HETs may not be cost effective to another military at the same time, it gives (and this is if its a civilian driving the tank hauler) it creates a job for that driver. Whatever works right?
