Storm surge newquay, mawgan porth beach. March 10 2008 18:40

a double storm surge in march`s storms across cornwall, hits the bridge a mawgan porth and goes right over both sides, moving wooden sheds and narrowly missing people as they run for their lives. A van was lucky to escape too! other videos available

I have never experienced a storm surge like that before, but there was one that hit Galveston, Texas two weeks after I left there.

I stayed there for a weeks vacation when I was 12 years old in 1971. Great footage. I've never seen a storm surge all at once like that.

this is my home village ive seen this happen may times, the reason the petrol station at the bottom of the hill is no longer a petrol station is because the fuel tanks kept getting flooded so they gave up selling salty petrol!!

I think this video plays down the scale of what happned. It looks so tame on the vid but when you're stood on the beach you realise you wouldn't have stood a chance there
