The Ferris Wheel - I Can't Break The Habit

1967

Diana Ferris, Linda Lewis, Bernie Holland, Dennis Elliot.

Ferris Wheel had a brief 3 year history in England, especially London in the late 1960's. This is an incredible psychedelic soul group that included the most brilliant Linda Lewis. You could fill a large quarto book with her achievements. Her voice range is like no other. Apart from her solo work just listen to some of her session work (David Bowie's "Aladdin Sane"). Linda was born in West Ham, East London (just like the uploader) and appeared as a film extra in a Beatles Film and the band itself appeared in The Touchables with Wynder K Frog in 1968. She joined the soul-rock outfit Ferris Wheel, alongside Diana Ferris, Bernie Holland (later of Jody Grind) and Dennis Elliot, who would go on to both If and Foreigner.

  • Can someone say at 1:26 if that was Linda's voice or was it an instrument?

  • The person who produced the mix could tell you that. It's instrument over vocal but the octave range of the singer as we know is unbelievable.
