All that build-up for having these two together, only to keep them separated at the very end for the rest of their lives.
It's like the writers were making fun of us for keeping track of their relationship for so long.

I'm not sure if this is going to happen in this show but why is it that characters like Eva and Jordan always delay until the ends of series like this before getting together?
I bet it's just the writers having a good chuckle while they know the fans are squirming in their chairs waiting for it to happen.
