It's here, oh yeah - it's the Nikon D5100 review! This update to the D5100 looks pretty much the same, so what has changed? And what makes this a good rival to the Canon EOS 600D as an entry-level DSLR?

This needs to be mentioned: the D5100 has the same sensor as the D7000, which I think is a big selling point. If you don't require all the pro features of the D7000, pick up a D5100 for half the price and get the same image quality. Put that money you saved towards a good lens.

Hey I want to buy this camera, but i'm wondering should I get this with the two lens kit, the 18-55mm and 55-200mm, or buy the one lens kit with the 18-55mm and then go for a 35mm wide aperture. What i'm asking is what is more recommended for beginners and is having more focal points important for a beginner?

They are almost the same in terms of image quality, if you look at the specs the D3200 has a tiny advantage there but that is so small it doesn't really matter.

To be honest? I own the D3200 and I've been missing that tilty flippy screen in quite a few situations already. But I can live without it.

They are both awesome cameras, they are both great choices^^

Both take great photos and videos, it all comes down to the physical features and resolution, take your pick. Tiltey flippy screen and slightly more bulk (adds stability in my opinion) or small convenient size, no tiltey flippy screen, and higher resolution. In terms of performance, aside from the resolution difference, they both do pretty much the same. If you have the money though, go full frame.

3200 has a newer sensor and image processor. And, flip-out screen aside, the 3200 does all the same basic things as the 5100. So unless the price is right, the 3200 is a better camera.

If you are already a committed Nikon shooter and have already have shitloads of arsenal nikon lenses, Go for the D7000, If you are new and want to start collecting lenses as a hobby (other than photography) then go for the D5100... other than that, might call it a day and buy a D3200 or a D5200 which IMO are a bit clumsy updates from they're predecessors! D7000, 60D, A99 and mostly other camera's in their lineups are the best deals right now IMO. :D cheers.
