Falconer Jonathan Wood flies a female Gyrfalcon at the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival in Harlingen, Texas. Gyrfalcons are the largest falcons in the world and hunt prey as large as geese. This bird is four months old and still in training, diving on the lure Jonathan is swinging in the air.

  • i think some falconers don't care about health of bird whatsoever. they just want it.

  • I remember a couple years ago she sat on the Chamber of Commerce building for an afternoon.

  • does the hot weather effect they gyr's performance and health?
