This is me taking a few laps High Speed Touring laps at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Hallett, OK. I am driving my 2002 Honda Civic EX. It was the first day of the season in 2003 and it was bitter cold outside, so the track and my tires were not warmed up enough to really push the car to its max. The track itself is quite technical and very fun to drive. If you'd like to find out more about Hallett MRC, you can visit the website at http://www.hallettracing.com

  • You have to keep in mind I was driving a honda civic, I was pretty new to open tracking, and it was really cold so I never got much grip. And, I was driving to the best of my own ability and comfort level at that time.

  • I believe that was when I was running a set of Kumho Ecsta 712s. My street tires. It was pretty cold that day and the track and tires never really warmed up fully. Which is why they screamed, plus I push it pretty hard in spots which helps them sing to me.

I have more recently run on Yokohama AVS100s which I didn't think performed as well as the Kumhos.

The season is nearly over so if you are going to get out this year, do so soon! I've not been all year myself.:/

  • watching a video and actually being there r 2 completely different things u cant really judge how fast u were going by this video and wasnt bad going considering u were new to it. and squealing of the tyres can b due to road surface. here wat civic is it that u have

  • First, you wern't really going that fast were you?

Second, the notion that you never really warmed the tires up is spurious. When you make them squeal, they are heating up...Probably too much. Third, no way do the Kumho's perform better then the Yokohoma's.

  • Looks like a fun track. I hope to make it out there before the end of the year.

What tires were you running? They were sure complaining a lot :-p
