direct tv stinks

I've had direct TV for more than a decade. Recently I've been haveing bad reception and service. They've come out to my house 4 times in the past couple of months and left without fixing the problem. I've given them their last chance. I have now disconnected my service with Direct TV and they have contacted me telling me they are going to bill my credit card on file $480. One of the problems here is that I don't have a credit card on file. I pay my bill monthly giving a credit card and they have chosen to write that number down and place it in their file without my permission now saying it is on file with them. This is unethical and borderlines criminal. One lady told me it didn't matter whether I had good service or not. If I disconnected my service, they would charge me. It is my contention that we have a contract for service (implying good service) for payment. they have breached this agreement by failing to provide me good serivce. This is obviously unwatchable. A few months ago, they were billing me double for service for several months. It took several months to get this straightened out. Conclusion.... Stay away from Direct TV

I don't like Direct TV either. I was outvoted 2 to 3 and had to witness the take away of Comcast cable. I want FIOS now!

DirecTV is more expensive than the Charter BUNDLE with a premium service. WAY MORE EXPENSIVE! The Charter Bundle is 100$ a month (100$ a year on a contract plan?) and DirecTV is 150.99$ a month.

Seriously just threaten them with legal action on the phone and if they try to blow you off make them believe you. If they are in breach, they're in breach and you will win in court. If the customer rep you're talking to is too dumb to realize this keep escalating or calling back until you get someone who has the intelligence to understand this fact.

When I read stuff like this I'm glad I have a lawyer in the family. One nasty letter from him is usually enough to get these asshole corporations calling you begging for forgiveness. Bottom line if they're not providing you the level of service they promised they're in breach of their obligations.
