timeouts for children three and under don't work i move them away from the situation as far as backtalking getting down on their level works if u talk to your children with calmness and respect then they will talk to you back with calmness and respect. and never learn back talking. I have a 17 ,11 and three year old and i know these things work. i never used cuss words at my kids so they don't use them. I don't hit my kids so they don't hit.

My parents never have beaten me, they either give me a smack on the arm or something like that, or threatened to belt me but never ever have my parents beaten me. I think this method works really well. =D

@TheShasiti Yeah, I already see what happens every single time we go out when you don't discipline your kids. In Wal-Mart today, there was this kid that could have been 3 or 4 years old who was throwing a tantrum so loud, I could hear him from the other end of the store. And, I think it was because he didn't want to get in the cart, but even when he was let out, he was still howling. And, I was even thinking, you know, a spanking wouldn't hurt. :)
