only 94 likes? Guess everybody keeps listening to the same doors and stones HIT singles over and over again to realize that more superior stuff like this exists.

@wmacisaac your not an old crank. I'm a young buch and this is true. Most modern music and mainstreem music is very superficial and soulless compared to bands like Purple.

Tetragrammoton T-1514 (B Side) (4:02) First ran into this little gem as the B side of the 45 "River Deep, Mountain High" - it remains, to this very day, my favourite song by the "Mk I" lineup - even better than "Hush" or any of the others. And this lineup produced quite a volume of interesting music, for sure. And if you really want to shake the rafters, find a MONO copy of this 45, and turn the volume up to 7 or more.

Nick Simper is a great Bass player just listen, Mrk1 rules!

One of the weirdest and best guitar solos in history! 1:47
The end of the song sounds a bit like Speed King, thanks to Blackmore
Hats off to Ian Paice

@sparkie119 Yes, it's true what you say about 8-tracks. But, as great as this particular song is in the annals of Psychedelic/Underground music, your 8-track tape just might be a collector's item!!!

I have the 8 track-8 tracks really sucked.

@Adamboms Is it Evans who is singing?
I hate to sound like an old crank, but when is the last time you heard a tune that asked you to read a book? Any book?

I'm proud to say that I own an original copy of this album from 1968. I found it for $7.98 used at a record store. I can't believe I found this one.
