This video is my rendition of "Learning to Fly" by Tom Petty. I am playing a baritone ukulele set to standard tuning (GCEA).

I started playing the ukulele a few months ago, and this is the first video I have created. I was, and still am, inspired by the wonderful people I met at the 2011 Ukulele World Congress. Thank you for encouraging me!

  • You've just made me buy a baritone ukulele!

I have been listening to baritone for a couple of weeks now, and was tempted, but worried about picking up all the new chord shapes(I never managed to learn guitar in the past!).

    So thanks!

  • @cdoesthehula Glad to hear you bought a uke! Playing the ukulele has been one of the best decisions in my life. Happy playing. :)

  • I think the tone you sing is too low for you. Try using a capo and play it as you did it but down the neck.

  • @tonvaldi Is there a capo specifically for the uke, or are all capos the same? I will have to try it out--thanks for the suggestion. :)

  • @YeahRica there are capos specially designed for ukuleles. search for it on amazon.com, or look for it at local music stores. They are the same as banjo capo's

  • @FearTheK35 Ah, nice to know! I tried out a regular, guitar capo, but my hand kept running into the clip. I will check out the ukulele/banjo capos. Thanks! :)
