The Manticore is my third SHIP (seriously huge investment in parts). At 180 studs, it is significantly larger than my first two ships. I built the Manticore over an agonizingly long 10 1/2 months.

The Manticore is a heavily-armed orbital death machine with enough firepower to destroy nearly anything produced by humankind. It's main armament is one of the most powerful energy weapons ever produced, colloquially known as the Destructo Beam. The ship also carries two smaller but deadly laser turrets on the roof, a number of smaller turrets, and two fighters.

  • Fake

  • @Evo0877 Really? blake-foster [dot] com/projects/manticore-me.jpg

  • Wow awesome job, I can see that starblazers may have had some inspiration here, but the detail you have is amazing

  • @mcplbt99 Thanks! I've actually never watched Starblazers, but I've certainly been influenced by some other builders who did.

  • This is another incredible ship, the detail is so ausome! I really like the ships with in the ships. not just cool as many people have said but you could make a fan movie with this ship. Ever thought about it? How many hours did it take and what inspired you to make this design?

  • @clone337 Thanks! I honestly have no idea how many hours I spent on this. I worked on it over the course of 10 1/2 months, so "a lot" would be a good answer. This started out as a sketch of the basic layout. I eventually blew up the sketch to life size, printed onto 10 pages, which I taped them togethe. This served as a rough guide--I literally built the ship on top of it. I made some changes along the way, but the overall shape was pretty close to the finished product.

  • I wish u were my dad ... :'-(

  • AWESOME! You must be working as a lego designer! Btw I WANT THAT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BlackslayerX0 awesome. i was at a local TOYS ' R ' US, looking at the space lego sets. i have been thinking of buying a few sets at a time. BUT, i would rather have the classic space lego's, over the star wars theme. i loved the original SW movies. even the second set of the trilogies. BUT, for some reason, i just can't get into the SW series. maybe it's just me. i was also into the classic police series as well as the fire series. LOL. i am a fireman/ems.

  • @fervent66 I do the same thing. The only problem is that I never cataloged my creations until today, using Lego Digital Designer to build a Lego that I previously built. Generally it leads me to tearing the model apart to remember how it was built and digitally rebuild it. So yeah...I guess I'm a giant nerd. This is by far better than ANYTHING I've ever built, though. :D

  • how much would this cost????

  • @BluesMan109 THAT IS SO COOL MAN. just came across it. you have a talent like i use to have, when i was in my teens. i build from my mindset and just kept

adding as i go. no sketches or anything. just visionary. i love the round thing with the figurines inside. imagine GEORGE LUCAS, had that in the original

" STAR WARS ". it would put the " DEATH STAR SPACE STATION " to shame.

  • @BluesMan109 I was wondering, could you make miniature modles of these i don't think i have enough lego pieces XD

  • Where do you get so much legos?
