It's really difficult to go hive off of two gas, and low econ zerg have major difficulties in switching tech.

Thanks. Wasn't it a bit dumb to continue mass-building air, when the opponent had massive anti-air?! Bad scouting by GGPlay, overlord should've scouted the enemy buildings close-by..

He probably would have killed more gols if he targeted them instead of hold position and sent in his lings later w/ speed

While I don't disagree, it's such a desperate situation that the tech switch is probably the best option available. Continuing muta production just leads to the slaughter we saw here.

Nope, reavers have 8 range, too. And devourers have 7. I actually checked the unit listings.

With Charon Boosters, goliaths have 8 range, which is the same as guardians (as well as carriers). That's what makes the upgrade so important when fighting guardians (or carriers). Actually, the only unit with longer range is the seige tank.

As it turns out, you also need boosters to fight BCs, which otherwise range gols by one hex. So the upgrade literally makes it possible to fight every kind of big air where it otherwise would be nearly impossible.

I believe Goliaths are actually the only unit that match Guardian range. There might be something else that is eluding me, but Goliaths definitely match Guardians in range.
