Please share that interesting "tool" you've attached the nail tip to for this tutorial. I've found a few on your Etsy page I can't wait to buy. Thank you

Hi RIP,
Nope it's a custom blend of different clays. No Bake N' Bend in there.

Kirsty,
Yes we do custom designs on request; we do have a long waiting list, though!

What kind of gel are you using

Its hard for me to hear you speak in this video but I really want my fimo to lay flat on my nails and like the way yours came out ..that part where you place them and wrap it in clear wrap do you have anything on the base of the nails like gel before you place the wrap and then cure it? Or how are you sticking them before you wrap it and cure it?

@DevineVolupta Yes, the first part of this video shows how I used a clear gel with yellow Pearl-Ex Powder to give the nail tip a colored bas on which to lay the fimo slices. I hadn't removed the sticky layer from the gel, so it was tacky after curing in my UV lamp. I placed the fimo slices onto the sticky layer, then the plastic wrap over the top. The plastic wrap should be fairly firm on the nail. Put the nail back in the lamp, and then cure again.

An alternative method, and which may be easier for you: pick up the slice with a tweezer, holding the slice as close to the edge as you can. Using brush-on nail glue, brush a tiny bit of glue onto the slice. Flip the slice over, and place it onto the nail. Wait a few seconds, and then press the slice down with a piece of plastic wrap on top of the slice. You don't need to wrap the plastic around the finger; just press onto the slice with it.

hey guys which is better gel nails or acrylic. Espicallu for beginners?

In school you will be exposed to both, though the school near me teaches mostly acrylic. It's best to try them both and see which one you prefer.
And don't get stuck in the "one or the other" mentality. I was talking to a nail tech the other day, who said after many years in the business doing gels, she's returning to acrylic. It was a personal preference for her and she said something key: she had learned alot from both.
