Slavery is not a thing of the past, as WFOR's Jennifer Santiago discovered on a visit to West Africa. Over a million children are trafficked in the country of Benin alone. (CBS News)
breeding like insects can cause that. Also it does not help with the famine. people have tried to educate the natives on that, but they dont want to listen.
people there need to be educated firs, about self respect, if they don't love their self, they can't love their children, also when it come to safe sex and relationship, they have so many children and they don't care about them, and they end up selling them as a slaves, people do almost anything when it come to poverty. I have thee children,i'll never put them to work, till they finish their college,my older one is going to medical school,I love my kids to death, & I'll do anything to protect them
i grew up in Benin. i was aware that such things were occurring. we were warned by our parents of predators stealing children and lowering children into slavery by manipulation, but we never thought much of it. we viewed it as a distant thing that occurs to unfortunate people. i don't think my parents would ever have sunken so low as to sell us knowingly. it saddens me that such things are occurring and i hope we as a people can come together and end it not just in Africa but worldwide.
