Introverts prefer autonomy and quiet in their work and draw their energy from within. In this presentation, the author of 200 Best Jobs for Introverts (JIST Works) discusses what introversion is, what challenges and advantages introverts experience in the workplace, how introverts can make their workplace more introvert-friendly, and what occupations may be best suited to introverts.

  • We introverts get accused of being IMPOLITE when we dont want to say "Hi, how are you" all the time!!!

  • I noticed that most of the jobs listed here are math/science based. I just want to say that just because a person is introverted does not mean they with be good at math/science, at least I'm not. These jobs would be more suitable for left brained introverts.

  • @paperorpaper Yea!! And I score an SEA on the Holland Typology test which is labeled as the "Extrovert" range. I'm an INFJ in the MBTI, so I find this highly frustrating. Just because I'm an introvert doesn't mean I want to be holed up in an office all day. I love people, just 1 or a few at a time. And I need autonomy, peace & quiet, and flexibility to do my best work. Yet I'm bored to tears if I'm by myself all day or only have one thing to work on. Oh yea, introverts like multi-tasking too!!

  • no wonder I never liked any of my previous jobs

  • @dnlcast2 ive always wondered why they give you those stupid tests, they are so prejudice

  • @wannabpirate7 you must be an EXtrovert then

  • @brolltitch introverts in general are basically considered outcasts of society cause they dont really blend in with others. ME? I dont blend in anywhere

  • @FreeeeS you got THAT right, its no wonder ive been through so many jobs in my life.

  • I hate how the ""I-have-to-be-around-people-all-the-time - i-cant-be-alone type people"" are considered as being healthy, well adjusted and displaying HEALTHY human characteristics;

    but us introverts are considered weeeird or impolite or depressive - you fuckin name it. WHY? WHY?!! But im a fuck load happier then you, slitting your wrists over the cashier who didnt ask how your day was.

  • I'm an INFJ

  • Astronomy FTW!

  • I think everyone thinks introverts are some creepy antisocial and impolite people... and extroverts are I-have-to-be-around-people-all-the-time, i-cant-be-alone type people.

    I doubt these extremes DEFINE introverts and extroverts, unless they have some psychological disorder
