Sony Vegas - how to make a overlay effect

So I have a few friends who's been asking me how to make the border effects or the colouring effect. Well it's just add a new track on your proyect, and import the media (image or vid) that you want for the effect then click on the Compositing Mode icon and set to Overlay or any other that fix for you.

* To get overlays is any image you want to use just google photoshop texture, grunge template, grungre photoshop, etc... you'll find a lot material.

Hi WHich Media Player You Use To Paste Videos In Sony Vegas?

@IfloxX media player? I use VirtualDubMod to cut the clips and save them as avi file with divx compression =)

how come whenever I apply this overlay effect, it makes the whole video darker, and not just the separate clip I selected?

@innisso in this way you need to use an overlay for the whole video cause if you use it just in some parts the rest will be dark. sorry
