Love it. This guy was the heart and soul of the mamas with respect to mama cas. Always in a good mood. Miss him.

I am glad to see others whom know denny and cass carried the performances.. This truth is what has kept me up all night researching Denny Doherty, just to find out he died in 2007.

Grew up watching Denny on tv as the harbour master. RIP, mate.

Great voice, so warm and personable, a for real wonderful person...wished he was still around with us...thanks for these memories...priceless...

The last of the magic voices!!! Denny was with Cass the essence of the Mamas and the Papas. Dancing Bear is one of my favorite of all time...

landrykkb: are you from Cape Breton? I am from Holland but I am very fond of your land. I read "The way the crow flies" from Ann Marie McDonald (l' Accadien errant) and wish to visit New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Cape Breton some day.
(Ou restez-vous? Je reste partout, je suis un voyageur).

@vakantieland4 Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot were indeed the vocal catalysts of The Mamas And The Papas.John Phillips wrote the songs as well as his then-wife Michelle sometimes co-wrote.It didn't hurt at all that Michelle was the eye candy of the group that all the men loved.

Denny Doherty sure wrote and recorded some deep material as a solo artist. He and I are fellow Nova Scotians, but he wasn't a Cape Bretoner like myself.Just kidding,Denny!God rest your soul and catch you on the flip flop!

Hi Casswell, this is a real nice tribute to a fine man with a beautiful voice. John Phillips wrote great songs, but Denny was the fantastic tenor who will never be forgotten for singin Monday Monday, Spanish Harlem, Dancing Bear, Got a Feeling,
Here in my Arms and so many other wonderful songs.

If they ever make a movie of The Mamas and The Papas, I woild nominate Gerard Butler to play Denny. If you change the nose a bit, and put a mop top wig on Gerald Butler and give him a goatee, he could pass for Denny, IMHO. And, I think that Butler, besides having a decent singing voice, but aslo being scotish, could fake a Canadian accent fairly well.
Just my 2 cents.
Why must the good die before the bad? RIP Harbor Master
