http://www.ElectricVehiclesForum.com Interviews the CEO of AMP Electric Vehicles, Steve Burns, on the exciting Electric Chevy Equinox: http://www.AMPElectricVehicles.com

For this video, we're discussing many topics regarding the electric SUV with Steve Burns, the CEO of AMP. Steve does a great job highlighting how they've converted the Chevy Equinox to an all electric SUV with no substantial compromises, meaning other than the gas gauge, nothing is noticeably different inside or out. He also talks about the simplicity and lack of efficiency loss that their design incorporates, resulting in a longer than average range but with a gain in power and performance. Steve also touches on the importance of their deep roots in the automotive industry from all their staff and board members.

He believes that it's the most efficient and powerful system on the market currently. He then touches on the charging process and how both 110 and 220 volts range from 4-12+ hours while providing a 150 mile range. Regenerative braking is a critical part of their design to help extend the range of their full-size electric SUV. Stave also touches on the price point that they're excited about achieving on this vehicle, as well. With it coming in below $50K without incentives, their getting closer and closer to a mainstream option.

  • This only interests the board of directors and Steve's ego. A wasted opportunity to show how the car performs. Show videos of the car on the road, accelerating, stopping, etc. Maybe opening up the darn hood and showing what's there. Perhaps showing the undercarriage with the motors hooked up, etc. That will get cars sold. Sorry Mr. CEO, your product is far more interesting than you are.

  • @JRoque250 Good points, and we don't disagree. Given the organization of an open ride and drive such as this, it's hard to do a full vehicle review, especially given the short distance of the test track and lack of time to do a full in depth review. We don't disagree, but let's at least keep the context of this video within what it really is. It's likely we'll be doing an extended full review of the AMP Chevy Equinox in the future, but for now, I hope it helps some to better understand EVs.

  • @ElectricVehicleForum Hmm I was kinda harsh there wasn't I? But hopefully you saw through that and will be giving us details on how the whole thing goes together. Understanding that at this point in the EV acceptance cycle, only tree huggers and nerds like me are interested. Looking forward to the details. Best wishes.

  • @JRoque250 No worries at all. Your comments are well received and we totally agree that in a complete review of a vehicle that having all you mention and then some is exactly what we'll be doing. I'm a detail freak, so we'll probably get along just fine. :)

    BITCHES

  • Excellent. Love the fact that you guys are in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am in Columbus and have followed electric cars since the 1980s. I want to get into the business someday and can't wait to see your show room.

  • This is a great car - glad someone is putting out a full size electric SUV!
