Must We Call a Revolution for Children?
Globalization now means a drive towards "flexibility" and an ever cheaper workforce. Extreme forms of exploitation are being pushed down the supply chain and concentrated in the developing economies. Child trafficking and labour exploitation are consequences as children cannot defend themselves. In absolute terms, far more children are being exploited than ever before.
1) Are our societies unconsciously promoting modern forms of slavery and the exploitation of children?
2) Are efforts by governments and companies to stop exploitation simply a window-dressing exercise to protect reputations?
3) Why are the losers in the process of globalization simply ignored?
